 Test Principle

 

Non-HDL lipoproteins are precipitated by phosphotungstic acid and magnesium ions, leaving HDL in the supernatant. The HDL cholesterol concentration is then measured enzymatically using a CHOD-PAP method.

 


 

Storage and Stability

  • Reagents are stable for 24 months at 2–8°C.

Test Procedure Summary

 

  1. Mix 0.2 mL of serum with 0.5 mL of precipitating reagent (R1).
  2. Allow to stand for 10 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Centrifuge at 4,000 rpm for 10 minutes.
  4. Collect supernatant and measure HDL cholesterol using reagent R2 at 546 nm.
