Triglycerides Reagents – Accurate Quantification for Clinical Diagnostics

The Triglycerides Reagent Kit is designed for the in-vitro quantitative determination of triglycerides in human serum and plasma. Accurate measurement of triglyceride levels is crucial for diagnosing and managing conditions such as hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular diseases, and metabolic disorders.

Key Features

High Sensitivity & Specificity: Ensures precise measurement of triglyceride concentrations, aiding in accurate diagnosis and monitoring.

Ready-to-Use Liquid Reagents: Simplifies laboratory workflow with stable, liquid reagents that minimize preparation time and potential errors.

Broad Instrument Compatibility: Suitable for use with various automated analyzers, offering flexibility across different laboratory setups.

Intended Use

This reagent kit is intended for the quantitative in-vitro determination of triglycerides in human serum and plasma. Elevated triglyceride levels are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases and other metabolic disorders, making this assay essential for comprehensive lipid profiling.

Assay Principle

The assay employs an enzymatic colorimetric method:

1. Lipoprotein Lipase (LPL): Hydrolyzes triglycerides into glycerol and free fatty acids.

2. Glycerol Kinase (GK): Phosphorylates glycerol to glycerol-3-phosphate.

3. Glycerol-3-Phosphate Oxidase (GPO): Oxidizes glycerol-3-phosphate, producing hydrogen peroxide.

4. Peroxidase (POD): Catalyzes the reaction between hydrogen peroxide and a chromogen, forming a colored complex measurable at 500 nm.

The intensity of the color produced is directly proportional to the triglyceride concentration in the sample.

Kit Components

Reagent 1 (Buffer): 2 × 50 mL

Reagent 2 (Enzyme): 1 × 12 mL

Calibrator: Provided for assay calibration

Product Insert: Detailed instructions for use

Storage and Stability

Unopened Kit: Stable until the expiration date when stored at 2° to 8°C.

Working Reagent: Stable for 21 days at 2° to 8°C or 3 days at 15° to 25°C.

Onboard Stability: Reagents are stable for 10 days on the analyzer at 2° to 10°C.

Specimen Collection and Storage

Sample Type: Fresh serum or plasma.

Storage: Samples are stable for 7 days when refrigerated (2° to 8°C) or 3 months when frozen (-20°C). Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Performance Characteristics

Linearity: Up to 10 mmol/L (885 mg/dL). Samples with higher concentrations should be diluted with saline, and the results multiplied by the dilution factor.

Precision: Intra-assay CV < 2%; Inter-assay CV < 3%.

Interferences: Hemoglobin up to 500 mg/dL, bilirubin up to 20 mg/dL, and lipemia (intralipid) up to 1000 mg/dL do not interfere with the assay.

Quality Control

It is recommended to include normal and abnormal control sera in each assay run to ensure the accuracy and reliability of results.
